Martin Luther King Day is a public holiday in the United States, marking the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr. Established by Ronald Reagan in 1983, MLK day has since been celebrated every year on the third Monday of January.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the civil rights defender’s death, ESMA Montpellier invited its students to participate in celebrations by offering a digital communication campaign for MLK day.
There is no more popular figure of black American activism than Martin Luther King. Although the "I have a dream" speech gave him international notoriety, it is the apex of a life spent fighting racism and segregation. This is why it seemed important to me to review the significant MLK life events in order to better understand the meaning of his message.
WEBDESIGN
It was through a site reviewing the key dates in the life of Martin Luther King that I wanted to promote MLK day. This one page website using chapters, chronologically reviews the significant events of the black American pastor’s life.
SOCIALS
In order to involve the general public in the MLK day celebration, I set out to create a video and stickers to share on Instagram. This Social media content helps bring additional visibility to the event.
